Post Graduation Plans: Carly plans to attend Genesee Community College and study Early Childhood/Childhood Education.

“Before becoming involved in Link Crew I would have considered myself a leader just waiting to shine. I always knew what was right and that I wanted to make a difference, but I was shy and needed to come out of my shell in order to become a true leader. After being involved in Link Crew, and also Leadership class I can truly say I feel like a leader. I know I can make a difference in the lives of others if I put my mind to it, and I plan on continuing to do so.”

My Leader was very kind to me and would always send me letters even if she was busy. I decided to become a Leader to make my Links feel just as special as mine had made me feel.”

2012 Scholarship Winner, Megan WhitmanMegan Whitman
Glacier Peak High School, WA

Post Graduation Plans: Megan will be studying Business at the University of Washington this fall.

“I think Link Crew is a great opportunity to further one’s leadership and build one’s confidence.  It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, and not only the Link Crew Leaders themselves.  Being in Link Crew also means you get a chance to meet the freshman class each year, and between the freshmen, the Link Leaders, and the Link Advisors one is able to build and create lasting relationships. I personally have found that the kindest and most supportive people I have ever met, most of, I met through Link Crew.  Beyond all of these benefits however, possibly the greatest reason to be a part of Link Crew is because it teaches you how much you are capable of, and that we are all capable of more than we ever thought possible.”
