It’s so nice to see a comment like this come through on our Boomerang Project Facebook page, even long after our student transition program orientations are wrapped up! Check it out:
“Wanted to share an awesome moment that happened yesterday: A 9th grade student came in to visit my class of 7th graders during a science lab. As soon as she walked in, one of my 7th graders jumped up, said 'Hello' and gave her a high five. She smiled, returned the slap, and said 'Hi, Tim'. Later, I asked Tim how he knew that 9th grader- from the bus, from his brother, from the neighborhood? He said, 'No, she was my WEB Leader last year'. #winning” – Brian Scully
This comment provides evidence that our peer mentoring programs successfully form solid bonds between students, helping to build positive relationships and a strong camaraderie. As the year carries on, comments like these provide us with great excitement over launching our bullying prevention program and student mentoring program orientations in even more schools next school year. We just can’t seem to get enough!
