Abbey has been teaching English and Link Crew at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California for the past six years. She studied internationally to receive her BA in Experiential Education and Cultural Studies from Friends World College, and she is currently earning her MS in Experiential Education from Minnesota State University.

Abbey is on the board of directors for Beyond Differences, an organization dedicated to addressing the issue of social isolation in schools. She currently lives in San Francisco, enjoys making pancakes for her friends, and believes in wearing mismatched socks (and other simple acts of silliness and creativity).
