Kjell is a National Board Certified teacher who taught high school English at all levels in San Diego, Tukwila, and Renton. She now works with and supports teachers in all they do as a Professional Development Coach in Renton, Washington. Kjell has worked with various artists-in-residence and has supported students as a Link Crew Coordinator and ASB Class Advisor. She believes in being a life-long learner, and as such, continues to take classes on an ongoing basis and has earned her Master’s in the Art of Teaching and her Master’s in Educational Leadership. Outside of school, Kjell is a proud mom to Hank, born in June of 2010. Her family, friends, and studies keep her busy.

I love Link Crew because it has really helped the upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) at my schools develop leadership skills in a way that no other program does. I have seen a real difference in the way the Link Crew Leaders carry themselves and interact with others as they become role models and take the job of mentoring the incoming freshmen very seriously. It has really pushed their growth and development and made them better students and kids.
