In order to set yourself up for success and to run the most effective program possible we suggest that you train approximately one Link Crew Coordinator per 125 incoming freshmen; if it is not possible for you to train that many initially, we suggest you train at least two your first year. Being a lone coordinator managing Link Crew is a large job and, although it can be done, it may not yield the same results as schools that train more than one person.

You want to train a team of staff members who possess one or more of the following characteristics:  

• Respected by students; students will want to work with them
• Respected by staff; staff will be open to their ideas and listen to what they have to say
• Are committed to and believe in student potential
• Are organized and have a gift for logistics and details
• Commanding and charismatic in front of large groups
