Gladstone High School has been selected to receive the H.B. McDaniel Foundation Award for its Link Crew program.

The award is being presented for the implementation of a program that addresses learning and academic achievement and contributes to student success.

The high school's Link Crew is a year-long transition program that trains junior and senior student leaders to provide a structure for incoming freshmen that guides them toward academic and social success in high school.

Each year, the McDaniel Foundation recognizes an outstanding program in the tradition of Henry Bonner McDaniel, the father of school counseling and guidance in California.

The award will be presented on June 20 at Stanford University.
