Cool Link Crew heads outdoors

Link Crew is national program administered by the Boomerang Project.

The goal is to help incoming 9th graders and other new students at high schools make connections with upper class members.  Those Link Leaders guide students through their first weeks of school, answering questions, and providing a friendly face.

Jim Bollum, Associate Principal at Wayzata High School says students who make those connections and feel comfortable in their new school will generally have fewer problems later on.

Wayzata's program has grown so much over the past nine years, the school now has an extensive application process for Link Leaders.

To foster more team spirit among the leaders themselves, the Link Crew now takes its training to an overnight campsite in Baker Park.  Click here to watch Wayzata's Link Crew in action.
