Selecting the Right Personnel to Train

In order to set yourself up for success and to run the most effective program possible we suggest that you train approximately one WEB Coordinator per 75-100 incoming 6th/7th graders; if it is not possible for you to train that many initially, we suggest you train at least two your first year. Being a lone coordinator managing WEB is a large job and, although it can be done, it may not yield the same results as schools that train more than one person.

You want to train staff members who possess one or more of the following characteristics:

• Respected by students; students will want to work with them
• Respected by staff; staff will be open to their ideas and listen to what they have to say
• Are committed to and believe in student potential
• Are organized and have a gift for logistics and details
• Commanding and charismatic in front of large groups
