Orientation
WEB kicks off the school year with a fun filled and educational orientation day that welcomes new students into middle school. Incoming 6th/7th graders are personally invited to attend the orientation day by an 8th grade WEB Leader who spends the day with them and mentors them throughout their first year of middle school.
The orientation day begins with a 6th/7th grade and WEB Leader assembly led by your trained coordinator. The assembly takes them through a series of spirited and interactive activities designed to make your students feel comfortable in their new school, inspire a lot of fun and encourage them to consider the path they want to take as they enter middle school. Following the assembly, students are organized into smaller groups led by two WEB Leaders. During their small groups the 6th/7th graders have the opportunity to meet new people, participate in team building activities, learn about their new school as well as learn important information about being successful in middle school.
The orientation day concludes with a second assembly that leaves your incoming 6th/7th grade class and their WEB Leaders feeling energized and excited about the new year ahead. They exit the gym equipped with information and strategies that will help them be successful in middle school, the knowledge that the WEB Leaders and the school care about them, and a sea of familiar faces to look forward to on their first day of school.
